Tony joined the family business in 1989 as an apprentice joiner, gaining experience in all aspects of construction, eg. finishing joinery as part of a refurbishment scheme at Liverpool Magistrates Court, first & second fix joinery in new build residential properties, to complex formwork for below ground reinforced concrete structures on petrochemical sites at Ellesmere Port. His training, practical experience, and people skills enabled to rise to positions of foreman, site manager, contracts manager. Recent projects managed include rebuilding Alexandra Dock River wall (resulting from a major shipping collision), to controlling structural demolition and reconstruction within NGFE, St Helens. Today as Contracts Director he plays a major part in the day to day planning and management of a busy multi disciplined construction company, including the realisation of jfw’s safety and quality ethos.
